B i o g r a p h y

I am currently working on my Bachekors Degree in rehabilitation Services. I have over 25 years of cumulative military time in the active Army, Army Guard, Army Reserves, and the I.R.R. My career started in 1985 at Ft. Benning , GA. as an infantryman. I additionally attended Airborne School. My first assignment was in Camp Casey, Korea and then onto the 82nd Airborne Division in Ft. Bragg, NC. I was an infantry soldier for my first 12 years and in that time I was distinguished Honor Grad for Basic training, Honor Grad for PLDC and also received The leadership Award for BNCOC. I was also a unit Armorer while on my second tour in Korea assigned to 1/31st Mechanized Infantry. I was also a scout (19D) squad leader while stationed at Ft. Drum, NY I then reclassed to Water treatment and purification where I also the Distinguished Honor grad of my class. I did an additional 7 years as a water treatment NCO where my positions ranged from Squad leader to section Sergeant to Plt Sergeant. Upon returning to Ft. Bragg , I was the units training and operations NCOIC for 2 years, I was also the weapons trainer for the unit (M-9, M-4, M-16, M249, M240B, replaced the M-60, M-2, and MK-19)I have been attached to and deployed with the 3rd Group Special Forces, out of Ft. Bragg, NC, to Africa twice. I went into the inactive ready reserves in July of 2000 at which point I became an Instructor for The Saltwater Treatment Course at Ft. Story, VA. In 2002 I transferred to the Alabama National Guard where I was an Information Systems Operator and analyst NCO. After almost a year in the Alabama National Guard I received mobilization Orders in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II.Upon returning from deployment from Iraq I transferred to the active reserves and was assigned to the 753rd QM Company out of Oshkosh, WI.  I volunteered for deployment to Afghanistan. In my three years in Afghanistan I did one year running patrols with Afghan soldiers in the mountains and the next two years I spent doing personal security for both military and civilian V.I.Ps. In 2010 I retired from the Army and tried to unwind. I began attending college in summer of 2011 and graduated with an Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance in May of 2013. I am proud to serve my country and believe that one way we serve is to help other nations maintain their freedoms that all people should have. My experience has taught me how to manage myself as well as others and to instruct and teach others and to share knowledge to accomplish the tasks that we are presented. Serving in the Military and helping others is an Honor and a Privilege that I do not take lightly. Remember, without veterans America would not be free.
